When you're shopping for a luxury car, you want to do your homework and make sure that you're making the right choice. To that end, we've helped out by comparing the BMW 2018 530i sedan with the Infiniti Q50.

It is true that the 530i has the higher Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of the two. However, consider that it also has the finest of German engineering in its DNA. Though the 530i is taller, wider and longer than the Q50, it still offers better fuel efficiency. The BMW is rated for an estimated 24 city/34 highway/27 combined fuel economy, while the Infiniti offers 22 city/28 highway/24 combined. Over time, those fuel costs saved will really add up.

Both cars feature a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine, but the engine in the 530i boasts twin turbochargers. One notable difference between the two shows up when you hit the accelerator, as the BMW 530i produces 248 horsepower, outperforming the Q50's offering of 208. Also, the 530i mates its engine to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the Infiniti aligns its engine to a 7-speed automatic.

The 530i offers you 18.7 cubic feet of trunk cargo space, allowing you to haul more gear than will fit in the Q50's 13.2 cubic feet.

The BMW also offers the reassurance of four years of Roadside Assistance, while the Infiniti doesn’t.
