2020 BMW X3 vs. 2020 Lexus RX: Features, Specs & Trims

2020 bmw x3 vs 2020 lexus rx specs features trim price

With the X3 in its 2020 model and RX in its most recent form, there needs to be another comparison between these two popular, high-end compact sedans: 2020 BMW X3 vs. 2020 Lexus RX. BMW, as always, is once again ready with its M badges for the 2020 X3 and hopes to impress its customers with its excellent performance with a turbocharged inline-six offering 503 hp. Standing on the opposing side is the Lexus RX, which exhibits modern styling and boasts a face-melting performance engine. Let’s see how these two automotive giants compete against each other in these three categories: styling, performance, and technology.

BMW was quick to update the X3 with its M badge. This new top-tier X3, additionally available in a distinct, X4-like body design, packs enough horsepower, flaunts aggressive styling as well as features carbon-fiber trim also.

Comfort and Convenience

This year, the BMW X3 brings more leg space and headroom so that passengers can kick back and will have the ability to stretch out a lot more than before. Better fuel mileage absolutely helps, and obviously, you will be making less stops at the gas station. Comfort- and convenience-wise, both cars are really close. The new Lexus RX is large, features comfy seats and offers a well-appointed cabin to meet all your requirements.

Styling

Inside or outside—the 2020 BMW X3 M delivers what you actually seek in an SUV. Classy, leather-wrapped sport bucket seats, warm-toned dashboard, premium leather seating, and a stylish control panel are the primary highlights inside. Upgrade options allow you to select from a range of premium natural leathers in numerous color choices and offers you a chance to pick simulated suede. M Badge brings more functional external styling this year, which includes adaptive LED headlights, heated seating, new HUD and revolutionary gesture control options.

Standard features in the new Lexus RX are plentiful. While the premium lighting, unique front grille, and cabin styling are admirable, however none could outpace the new BMW X3.

Technology Highlights

The 2020 BMW X3 is notjust powerful but also a smart machine with sophisticated tech features like gesture control and responsive technology. Picture your vehicle responding to your voice commands. If that’s what you want, then X3 is your ideal choice. Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢, navigation system, dashboard with advanced applications and temperature-controlled steering wheels and seats are some of the best technology highlights of the new X3.
Lexus, on the other hand, has updated the new RX and added several advanced technology and safety features. However, the RX lacks in basic smartphone apps like Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢. Plainly, the X3 gains an advantage here in this comparison.

Performance Highlights

Performance in the SUVs are no longer about mileage only. Currently we expect our high-end haulers to offer some payload capacity too. If it concerns towing capacity, the BMW X3 comes to be a clear choice over the Lexus RX. Mighty M’s variants with inline-4 and -6 can produce 473 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque and up to 503 hp in the X3 M. Naturally, your new X3 has adequate power to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. Also, with an eight-speed automatic, the new X3 works like a powerful automotive machine yet supplies a smooth and pleasurable driving experience.

The Lexus RX includes a V-6, which is expectedly powerful and supplies praiseworthy dexterity. Despite having a powerful engine, the Lexus SUV sheds some points with reduced MPG and payload capability compared to the BMW X3.

Buyer Beware. I had a verbal agreement with two salespersons, emails agreeing to terms, and a written term sheet signed by management to purchase a car. A few hours later I was told the car was sold to someone else. They claim this is normal business. Have read several other complaints that others were treated the same way. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Kansas.

Would not recommend the dealership or service department. Bought a used 2013 Mini Cooper convertible "as is" and within a month of purchase noticed a gap in the passenger window only by taking it to a car wash and noticing water coming into the cabin and same day an alert for rear taillight assembly issue. When I bought the car, I addressed concerns for the taillight but was told it was only cosmetic issue and believed it to be true. Called service dept. and was instructed to bring the car in and they would look at it. Took them 6 ... Read More
